In our day-to-day life, there are many times when we don’t realize the nutritional value of certain residues in a liquid form. These fluids are imperative for good health. Why Rice water is better than other Fluids?
As per the protocols of Herbal Medicinal Science, Rice water is rich in many Lifesaving Medicinal properties and so must be included in our diet on a daily basis and it’s always best to have rice water before meals only. Some of the key medicinal uses of drinking rice water are as follows-
- Lignans- These are the antioxidants which are responsible for lower risks of heart diseases, menopausal symptoms, osteoporosis, and breast cancer.
- Ferulic acid – It is a potent antioxidant found in rice bran. Research studies say that it has anti-inflammatory and anti-microbial effects and may help prevent many types of cancer and diabetes.
- Manganese -Many foods especially whole grains contain this trace mineral. It is essential for metabolism, growth, development and body’s antioxidant system. It plays a pivotal role in cancer is well known as it discourages cellular vitiation.
- Niacin- Also known as vitamin B-3, Niacin in rice is mostly found in the form of nicotinic acid. It also enables healthy cellular metabolism and ensures good cellular physiological functions.

How to make Rice Water?
1-Rinse the rice thoroughly and then boil for about 15 minutes.
2-Use twice the amount of cooking water
3-Add routine spices like cardamom, cinnamon for enhanced taste and good palatability. Once it’s boiled up, filter the contents and rice water is ready to be consumed as a clear rice soup.
